Aromatherapy: Introduction | Getting Started | Healing Properties | Sample Recipes

Aromatherapy?
The first time I heard this word I thought it must be some new way to cook.  How to create delicious aromas from your kitchen?  Well, I had it a little right, it’s all about smells; really great smells.

I met Judi Fitzsimmons author of Seasons of Aromatherapy while appearing on Charlotte’s WBTVmorning show.  Here was this bubbly gal hauling a suitcase at six thirty in the morning.  My curiosity was more than aroused.  We chatted for a few minutes and soon was captured by the healing promises of essential oils. Her passion and enthusiasm were contagious and I wanted to know more.  Remember, I was the one thinking this had to do with pot roast.

Judi’s excitement and belief in the healing benefits of aromatherapy have captured the imagination of thousands of women.  Her small vials filled with lavender, rosemary, peppermint and clary sage work wonders for mind, spirit, and soul.  Her book, Seasons of Aromatherapy, includes recipes for treating everything from sunburn to relaxing bath blends.  Judi and I had a delightful conversation about aromatherapy and how it can play an important role in our daily lives.

Debbie addresses the issue of what faces women who face menopause unexpectedly from various reasons including hysterectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, medication, anorexia or other unusual causes. She offers guidance on the emotional and cognitive difficulties (short-term memory loss), as well as the potential physical problems (osteoporosis, heart disease) related to early menopause, and their treatment (nutrition, hormone replacement therapy, exercise). In this exclusive article on HotFlash, Debbie has also graciously shared the first chapter of her book which tell us a bit more about what sudden menopause is. She goes on to tell us more about sudden menopause, the reasons for hysterectomy and ovarian malfunction, the connection between the brain and menstrual cycle, and the process of natural menopause.
