Dr. Ellen O'Meara, a University of Washington cancer researcher and the lead researcher on this study, suggests that breast cancer patients should not fear hormone replacement therapy or HRT. In spring 2001, the study was completed confirming that for relapsing remitting MS, estriol showed an improvement in symptoms. Also, the brain scans (MRI) for women taking estriol improved. We also have case histories from people on our support groups that support these findings. If you have a loved one with MS or you have it yourself, join our support group on the Women's Health Center and ask your question.

Vagifem Vaginal Suppository
natway.jpg (5834 bytes)Vagifem is an estrogen product made by Pharmacia Corporation   It is an estrogen (estradiol) tablet that is inserted into the vagina.  It's primary use is to stop vaginal itching, pain during intercourse, and perhaps increase sexual arousal - better known as atrophic vaginitis which occurs with the lowered estrogen levels associated with menopause and post menopause. Vagifem works locally right at the vaginal level and is not absorbed through out the body.
