What does it take to start a home business? Joe and I
receive quite a bit of mail from people who want to start a home business. Over the years,
we have been involved in many different enterprises and I have taken some of my thoughts
here, and distilled it down to 10 tips for getting your business off the ground.. I hope
this helps you. 1. Passion.
Choose an area of business that you have passion for. If you choose something
that doesn't interest you it is sure to be a flop. For example if you love fishing it
might be wise to have this as a possible idea for your business.
2. Research.
Talk with others. Find out what successful friends in business are doing. How did
they get started? What motivated them to take the leap of faith? Go to the library and
bookstore and find out about other successful people.
3. Plan.
Develop a plan. It is this one item that will set your course. Sit down and write
out what you want from the business and how you are prepared to accomplish this wonderful
goal.

4. Goals.
Decide on what your goals will be for the first 6 months. Then update your plan
for the next 6 months. Analyze at the end of six months what you have accomplished and
where you need room for improvement.5. Resources.
This is not limited to financial resources but to people power. How do you plan
to meet your goals? Are their family members, friends that would like to join you on your
entrepreneurial journey? Find people that share your passion.
6. Network.
This can be done in your neighborhood, at your day job and on the Internet. The
more you reach out the better your plan.
7. Time.
It takes time to make your first million. No one is ever an over night success.
Anyone who says that is not telling you about the many hours they invested before reaching
their goal. everyone says I'd like to do it but I don't have time? we all know how we
invest our time. There are many ways that we can reorganize our day and take the time we
need to fuel our passion. You are worth it.

8. Idea.
Remember you don't have to reinvent the wheel. there are many successful folks
out there that have not made a new product or service. 9.
Perseverance.
The person who created the saying that success is 1% luck and 95 % perseverance
must have had their own business. This is the truth ! Maintaining your passion and
sticking to your plan will get you to where you want to be.
10. Flexibility
You may believe that your idea is the best in the world and you have followed the
other 9 steps but somehow it's not happening for you. Flexibility we give you the edge to
move with the market. perhaps you need to make a change in your presentation, you may have
to alter the product or service a bit to hit the mark. Being flexible allows you the
creativity that every successful business person possesses.
